Project

Project Spiros was started autumn 2006. Spiros is a student project at the KTH Royal Institute of Technology, the goal is to design and construct an urban car that will compete in the Urban Concept class of the Shell Eco Marathon. The veichle must obey the rules set by Shell Eco Marathon. The challenge is to drive as far as possible using the least amount of energy. The race is held in Lausitz south of Berlin in Germany.

This year's team is going to integrate a whole new the power train which is based on hydrogen powered fuel cell. The fuel cell charges a super conductor which drives an electrical motor.

The project involves students from different specialization courses:

  • 3 Mechatronics students
  • 6 Chemistry students
  • 1 Electrical student
  • 2 Machine Design students
  • 9 PhD students

This is the official homepage of the project. The page will continuously be updated with information, pictures and videos from the Spiros project.
